Game History
Week 1
At the beginning of Big Brother 9: Arcade, 8 new players and 4 returning veterans returned to either start a new legacy, or correct their past mistakes. The game started off with a bang, as the brand new Play Token twist was dropped on the house, with everyone starting with 1 Play Token. After explaining the rules of the tokens, the Token Shop was revealed as a vendor for a new power every week. The first power of the game was the Gold Card, and its effect was hidden. Only one person, returning player Amy-Kate, took the risk and decided to buy it for their 1 Play Token. Amy-Kate had bought herself 2 weeks of immunity in exchange for her ability to play in competitions. From there, the first HOH of the season was 'Solipskier', a returning competition in which houseguests had to make their own slopes. Scorpion pulled it out, winning the first HOH! After being eerily silent for most of his reign, he decided to nominate Vom as his target, and Aria as his pawn. At the POV competition, 'Achievement Unlocked', houseguests had to complete a set of 100 achievements in a game as fast as possible, which Vom succeeded in, winning the Power of Veto! She decided to save herself, and forced Scorpion to name a replacement. Scorpion chose Turtwig, as he was Vom's right-hand man and his new target. At the eviction ceremony, though, Aria was evicted by a vote of 6-3, becoming the first casualty of the BB9 Arcade. She gave her token to Scattered.
Week 2
Luckily for Aria, she was not fully out of the game yet, as the Storage Room gave her a second chance to get back in the game! For her first task to try and earn Play Tokens, she played 'Take a Chance', where she had to give 4 numbers on a 6-sided die, and have the die land on one of those numbers for her to earn a token. The die landed on one of her numbers, and she gained 1 Play Token.
In the main game, the new power on the shop was the 'Vote Block' advantage, which allowed the holder to block someone's vote at one of the next 2 evictions for 1 Play Token. Vom purchased the advantage. The HOH competition was 'Love', a game in which houseguests had to feed off of the attraction of different objects to gain points. Mora gained the most, and won HOH! He decided to nominate Almonds as his target, and Nola as a pawn. At the POV competition, players competed in 'Jojo Frog', a game where the houseguests had to manage getting frogs to safety from the water. In the end, Mora won the POV competition, and won full power for the week! He ultimately decided to leave the nominees in tact, and discarded the POV. At the eviction ceremony, for being a huge threat and controlling Scorpion's HOH the week prior, Almonds was evicted by a vote of 7-1, and he was sent to the Storage Room. He gave his token to Turtwig.
Week 3
For the next task in the Storage Room, Aria and Almonds had to complete a puzzle in 'Jigsaw Jam', where completing it would earn a token, but completing it first would earn an advantage. Though both completed it, Aria did so first, earning the 50/50 Coin. Deeming Vom a likely buyer, she offered it to her, and she bought it, earning Aria a 3rd token. Aria then decided to buy 2 advantages in the re-entry challenge, maxing her odds out immediately.
In the house, the latest item in the Token Shop were 2 mystery boxes, with different effects for 1 Play Token. Mora bought the first one, and earned himself 2 Play Tokens. Nola bought the other, and received a punishment that blocked her from participating in this week's HOH competition. The houseguests then competed in the HOH competition 'Card Toss', in which players had to land cards in a constantly moving hat. Cheez managed to win the competition, becoming the new HOH! He decided to nominate Scorpion as his target, and Nola as his pawn. At the POV competition, the houseguests played in 'Multitask', a game in which houseguests have to handle multiple different mini-games at once for as long as possible. In the end, Vom easily bested the rest, winning her 2nd POV of the season! She discarded the POV, leaving the nominations the same. At the eviction ceremony, Vom secretly played the Vote Block on Shaymin, and blocked his vote. Scorpion was then evicted in a unanimous 6-0 vote, and was sent to the Storage Room. He gave his token to Scattered.
Week 4
For the final task of the Storage Room, Aria, Almonds, and Scorpion had to partake in the 'Scavenger Scramble' scavenger hunt, to find 4 Play Tokens placed around the PBB server. 1 of those tokens was not a real token, but an advantage for the finder to be played on someone in the main game. Scorpion found 2 tokens, Aria found 1 token, and Almonds found the Extortion advantage. He ultimately decided to play it against Brave, but did not manage to get any tokens out of him. In addition, Aria decided to purchase an Impulse of Immunity, Scorpion decided to buy 2 competition advantages, and Almonds bought 1 competition advantage.
In the game, the latest item was the Swindle Swap, which for 2 tokens, allowed the user to switch their token count with someone else. Ultimately, it was not purchased, and did not enter play. The HOH competition was 'BB Stormwatch', in which houseguests were given joke-like prompts based on past houseguests from earlier seasons for a couple days, which they were then quizzed on. In the end, Scattered barely edged out Amy-Kate on the tiebreaker, winning the HOH! He decided to flip the game, and nominated Cheez and Brave, going for a backdoor on Vom. At the POV competition, 'Count to Ten!', players had to count numbers in order to eliminate others from the game. In addition, prizes and punishments would be involved, initially being given to certain placements, but they could be swapped around. In the end, Amy-Kate gained 2 tokens, Turtwig received the Blue Button, Vom had immunity for the rest of the week, Mora and Scattered had punishments, and Cheez won the Power of Veto! Cheez decided to save himself, and Scattered to name a replacement. Because Vom was immune, Scattered nominated Turtwig as her closest ally. At the eviction, Brave was evicted in a vote of 5-1, and he was sent off to the Storage Room. He gave his token to Vom.
Week 5
The Storage Room tasks had concluded, and it was time for 1 of the 4 to get back in the game! The competition was 'zBall', in which players had to zig and zag their way through an increasingly complicated course. In the end, Almonds beat out the other 3, and won his way back in the game!
With the Storage Room concluding, this week's power was the Arcade POV, which allowed the user to secretly save veto someone from the block and gain an extra vote at that week's eviction. Mora ultimately purchased it for 3 Play Tokens. The HOH competition was 'Doodle Cricket', in which you had to score as many points before their wicket was hit. In typical comeback winner fashion, Almonds won his first HOH upon his return! He decided to nominate Cheez and Nola, as he had little contact with either. At the POV competition, 'Feed the Beet Plus', houseguests had to test themselves with rhythm and timing to take home a win. Despite a very close match, Scattered won the Power of Veto! He discarded, leaving the nominations in place. At the eviction, Cheez was evicted in a vote of 4-2, but Turtwig pressed the Blue Button for Cheez, triggering the Fictional Failure, and giving Cheez a chance to stay in the game with 'Choppy Orc' if he could finish a speed run in under 170 seconds. He failed to do so, and was permanently evicted from the house, becoming the first member of the jury. He gave his 2 tokens to Vom.
Week 6
With a new week, came a new power. The Impulse of Immunity from the Storage Room's shop had entered the main game through the Token Shop for 2 Play Tokens, which allowed the holder to instantly save themselves and be safe for the week if they were nominated by an HOH with it in their possession. Vom purchased the advantage. In the HOH competition, 'Nightmare Runner 2', houseguests had 30 minutes to score as high as they possibly could running around and killing monsters. Mora managed to outscore the rest, and won his 2nd HOH! He decided to nominate Nola and Scattered, both as pawns to try to appeal to Vom and Turtwig. At the POV competition, 'Food Stack', houseguests had to score as high as possible by stacking slabs onto one another, and they could purchase advantages to help them if they played hard enough. In the end, Mora won the Power of Veto, and full control for the 2nd time of the season. He decided to save Scattered, and name Vom as his replacement nominee. However, Vom, as the holder of the Impulse of Immunity, was immediately announced as safe, and Mora had to name another replacement. He chose Turtwig, once again for his association to Vom. At the eviction vote, despite a close 3-2 vote, Vom and Turtwig managed to pull through again, and Nola was evicted. He had no tokens to bequeath to anyone.
Week 7
On week 7, another item had entered the game: Jury Letters, which allowed the buyer to write a letter to a juror. Ultimately, Almonds and Turtwig each purchased 1 letter for 1 token. In the HOH competition, 'Man in Gap', houseguests had to find spaces that would allow them to stay alive in the competition, and not get crushed for as long as possible, with the person able to do this the longest winning the competition. Almonds managed to survive significantly longer than the rest, becoming the new HOH! He decided to nominate Vom and Turtwig, believing them to be threats in the game. At the POV competition 'Frat Boy Beer Pong', houseguests had to score difficult shots in games of beer pong in order to win the competition! Mora barely edged out Vom, winning the POV competition. He discarded the main POV, and ultimately decided to let his Arcade POV expire, leaving Vom and Turtwig on the block. At the eviction vote, a 2-2 tie vote occurred, and Almonds was left to break the tie. He chose to evict Turtwig, who became the third member of the jury. He had no tokens to bequeath to anyone.
Week 8
Round 1
With week 8 came the final power of the season through the token shop: the HOH itself, for 8 Play Tokens. Ultimately, Mora and Scattered had enough tokens to buy the power just between themselves, and Mora purchased the power for Scattered, making Scattered the new HOH! Scattered decided to nominate Vom as his target, and Shaymin as a pawn. At the POV competition 'Kawairun', houseguests had to run as far as possible while avoiding and playing around obstacles that could kill them along the way. Ultimately, Mora edged out the rest, and won his 5th Power of Veto of the season! He decided to leave the nominations as they were, and discarded. At the live ceremony to kick off the Live Double Eviction, Vom was evicted in a vote of 2-1, and was named the fourth member of the jury. The Play Token twist had ended, and Vom did not bequeath any tokens to anyone.
Round 2
With the live double now beginning and being hosted by veteran player NinjaPenguin, the houseguests were informed that the Play Token twist was no more, and had to decipher what had happened to the tokens, twists, advantages, and past players as a result in the competition 'Crime Scene'. Ultimately, Mora solved the series of word puzzles first, and became the new HOH! He decided to nominate Amy-Kate as his target, and Shaymin as a pawn. In the POV competition, 'Fibbage', houseguests had to give believable fake answers to a prompt in order to earn points from the other houseguests. In the end, Shaymin dominated the competition, and won the Power of Veto. Choosing to save himself, Mora had to name a replacement, and chose Almonds as his new pawn. At the end of the live eviction, Amy-Kate was voted out in a vote of 2-0, becoming the fifth jury member.
Week 9
With only 4 houseguests left, the game began to heat up even further, as the finish line was in sight. At the HOH competition, 'Clockwork Cat', houseguests had to complete a speed run of the game, running around the map and keeping the clock running simultaneously as fast as possible. In the end, Shaymin finished with an incredible score, winning the HOH! Almonds convinced him to nominate Almonds and Scattered, wanting to catch Mora off-guard in the POV competition, and hoping he would not try as hard. At Special Eviction, the POV was 'Web of Lies', and houseguests had to figure out the true statement of the web in relation to the 8 evicted houseguests. Almonds and Shaymin's strategy failed, as Mora won the POV competition, and discarded the POV. At the live eviction, Mora publicly voted out Almonds, as his true loyalty was to Scattered, and Almonds became the sixth member of the jury.
Week 10
At the Final 3, the only thing left to do was to win the competitions. The first competition was 'Hex FRVR', a puzzle game that required making moves with the future in mind to win. Ultimately, Mora pulled out another win, and won Part 1 of the HOH! In part 2, 'Tomb Runner', Scattered and Shaymin had to collect as many coins, avoid as many obstacles, and run as far as possible to rack up as many points as possible to beat the other. Ultimately, Shaymin scored much higher, and moved on to the Part 3. Part 3 was the returning classic, 'Know Your Jury', in which Mora and Shaymin had to guess how certain jurors responded to different prompts. In the end, Mora fell so far behind that Shaymin won the competition in only 4 questions, and Shaymin became the final HOH of the season! Believing Mora to be a much bigger threat, Shaymin evicted him, and Mora became the seventh and final member of the jury.
Finale
At the live finale, the jury expressed their anger with Scattered's betrayals of some players throughout the game, and Shaymin's quiet and invisible gameplay was respected as he stayed out of the game drama. Both finalists plead their cases, but ultimately they had zero impact on the jury's vote, and Shaymin managed to win the game in a decisive 5-2 vote, finishing the quietest and most controversial winning game in PBB history.
